Our Group of Churches - The Chadbrook Benefice

As of August 2023 we are delighted to say that Lawshall is part of our group of churches. Website to be updated soon.

Holy Trinity and St Catherine's are part of a group of four chuches combining the Parish of Long Melford with the Parish of Alpheton & Shimpling. The technical term for this grouping  is a 'Benefice'. The Chadbrook Benefice gets its name from a small river, the Chad Brook, which runs close to all four churches, entering the River Stour in Long Melford.

Our ministry team covers the whole Benefice, and there are times all the churches come together for joint services, events and social occasions. Alpheton and Shimpling are charming rural communities and you would be very welcome to join them for one of their services. For more information on Alpheton & Shimpling please click here

We are also part of a Sudbury Deanery' incorporating churches from Shimpling all the way down to Bures on the other side of Sudbury. Please click here for the latest deanery newsletter.

The central picture is a sculpture at Ely Cathedral called 'The Way of Life' by Jonathan Clarke.
